Melissa+Chris | Beach Weddings in Florida

Melissa+Chris were married on June 11, 2010 at the Grand Plaza Hotel on St. Pete Beach, FL. Their wedding was at 10:30 a.m. which was a perfect time for pictures on the beach. Our gulf coast sunsets are beautiful for late afternoon weddings but in the morning the sky is a deep blue and the water shows off its aqua green color. Melissa and Chris’s ceremony with that backdrop was absolutely beautiful! An added bonus was the fantastic light that filled the Presidential Ballroom during the reception…a photographer’s dream. I’m very much liking morning weddings!

Ricky from Rhythm Makers DJ’s kept everyone on the dance floor. Most of the bridal party knew each other from college and you could tell that they had done this party thing a few times before. The gorgeous and delicious cake was created by A Piece of Cake – Tampa.

Michelle+Cesar Engagement | Tampa Wedding Engagement Photographer

Michelle and Cesar are getting married this fall in Tampa. They wanted more of a fashion photography look that was modern but also incorporated some of the history of old Tampa. Immediately the Tampa Museum of Art came to mind as the place to go. The building and grounds are perfect for a modern fashion look. The historic Tampa Hotel on the University of Tampa campus just across the river provided the old Tampa background.

Michelle and Cesar are a beautiful couple and they rocked their photos!

Rebecca+Robert | Clearwater Wedding Photography

Beka+Robert were married on April 24, 2010. Their wedding was one of the most unique ones that I have been invited to photograph. Their’s was a pirate wedding. I’m talking pirate from the costumes that the groom, groomsmen and bridesmaids and guests wore to the location of the ceremony…on the Capt. Memo Pirate Cruise ship. As you can see in the pictures below, they left out no details. We started out with some photos of Beka getting ready at the Clearwater Beach Hilton. We then walked across the street to the marina where the Capt. Memo pirate ship was docked and waiting for the “pirates”. I knew that the guests were encouraged to dress the part but I wasn’t prepared for such a large participation. I think that’s one of the things that made the day so special, everyone got into the swashbuckling spirit! It could not have been a more beautiful day to be on the water. The sky was deep blue, the temperature was warm and there was fun in the air.

Beka+Robert had their reception at the Clearwater Beach Hilton and as usual, Joanie and company did an awesome job of staging the room and making sure that Beka+Robert’s wedding day was perfect. All of the center pieces were hand made castle towers and little treasure chests filled with jewels and other bootie. Their cake was custom made by Chantilly Cakes from Largo, FL. Robert is an artist and he airbrushed the cake topper for Desiree, owner of Chantilly, to place on top of their masterpiece.

I want to thank Caroline Hanna for coming out to photograph Beka+Robert’s day with me. Caroline, I couldn’t have done it without you and I look forward to working with you again.

Christi+Zack Engagement | Tampa Wedding Engagement

Christi+Zack are going to be married July 11, 2010 and I’m really looking forward to it. When I was talking with them about where they would like to have their engagement pictures taken they mentioned Channelside. Since their first date was to a Lightning game it made total sense to go there. The Channelside Bay Plaza has great areas for photographs as well by the new Tampa History Center and the St. Pete Times Forum. I love being able to create images for people that have a deeper meaning than just a photograph of them. One of my favorite pictures from their session is of them sitting in front of a big picture of someone bowling. They told me how perfect that background was since they used to bowl a lot when they started dating. In fact, Zack’s first gift to Christi was a pair of bowling shoes. How perfect!

Howard-The 3 Year Old Drummer ROCKS! | Tampa Photographer

OMG, this kid is SO cute! For only being 3 years old he’s a heck of a little drummer and you can tell he’s having a darn good time! I love how he works the crowd too. You gotta like the flashing lights on his Santa hat. :-) Watch the whole thing, he’s especially cute towards the end.
