Jeff Mason Wedding and Portrait Photographer

I’ve always been a big fan of Gorillaz music.  I ran across this Gorillaz music video on YouTube that I thought I would share.  At least one Gorillaz song is in our playlist when we are photographing a Senior Portrait session in studio at Jeff Mason Photography.  Seniors, you can bring your favorite to your session an we will plug your ipod or iphone or a cd in and we’ll Rock Out while we take amazing pictures of you.

I love the E*Trade talking baby videos!  They really crack me up.  These kids are Kuhlapotomus!

I was at the beach recently for a wedding engagement photo session and noticed this sign.  I really wasn’t aware that we have a problem like this.  We don’t need to have our troops in far away lands, seems like they need to be deployed to the beach, not the desert!

I was contact a while back by a very enthusiastic student from the yearbook staff at Steinbrenner High School.  She saw Jeff Mason Photography ads for senior pictures on facebook and wanted to know if i would be interested in placing an ad in their yearbook.  Sydney is her name and I was very impressed with her professionalism and attitude.  I told her that I would place an ad but I needed a student from her school to be featured in the ad and asked if she would be interested in being that student?  After meeting with her and her family we scheduled a session.

We scheduled Sydney to have her hair and makeup done before the session by my good friend Priscilla Cruz of Destiny & Light Hair and Makeup Artists.  She looked great and had a good time being made up.  I also want to thank Stephanie Humphrey owner of Stephanie Humphrey Photography for her artful suggestions and expertise with a reflector.

Sarah is a Senior at Armwood High School and we attend church together.  She is active in the church youth group.  One of my favorite memories of Sarah since I’ve known her was when the youth group came to our house during christmas and Sarah had this “hat” on that was more a cone-shaped spring than a hat and had a bell on the top!  It reminded me of something from Dr. Suess.

Sarah has been president of Armwood’s FFA chapter and is looking forward to college.  She is a Senior Spokesmodel for our studio and will be earning discounts on her senior pictures.  She will also be earning gift certificates from some of her favorite stores like Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister for referring her friends to Jeff Mason Photography for their senior pictures.

I’ve known Keanna for several years and was excited when she asked if she could be a Senior Spokesmodel for Jeff Mason Photography. Keanna goes to Brandon High School. She is originally from Slidell, LA and came to Tampa after hurricane Katrina to stay with her aunt and uncle who are our good friends. Well, after the schools reopened in Slidell she had already settled into Brandon and didn’t want to leave her friends, so she stayed…and we are glad she did.

Being a Senior Spokesmodel Keanna received a 10 page 5×5 photobook and photo referral cards to hand out to friends. Wait till you see the custom graduation announcements I’ll be offering the girls and guys who have their senior pictures taken with Jeff Mason Photography!  There will be over 10 different cards in several different styles.  Check back I’ll be posting a few samples soon.  These have to be seen to be believed.  Don’t let your parents buy those boring announcements, they are for all the “other” kids.  If you want incredibly cool, and different custom cards with your senior pictures on them, you’re going to want these.

I always seem to be able to find some “supposed” reason why I can’t take a few minutes to update my blog. In December I’m going to do another Blog-a-Day for the entire month. I did this a few months ago. I wasn’t perfect, I missed a few days, but it was fun and kept things rolling.

At the moment I’m flying back to Tampa from Boston. I had some business there with a client for my consulting business. Boston was COLD this week but then I understand Tampa was too.

I have one wedding remaining this year. I shot 18 weddings this year. These were either my own or shooting second for friends. I also shot a couple of weddings for Bella Pictures. I’m hoping to have about as many weddings in 2009 but I really don’t want any more than that. A goal for ‘09 is to greatly increase the number of high school seniors photographed.

I am in the process of developing my wedding pricing for next year. Instead of focusing on Collections I am going to give brides more options to build photography packages a la carte. I’ll be adding fun new products so check my website in the Info area under Weddings in the coming weeks.
