Leah+Nicholas Tarpon Springs Wedding Photography
Leah+Nicholas were married March 4, 2012 at the Palm Harbor White Chapel. The chapel was built in 1924 and is designated a historic landmark. It’s a beautiful little church and was perfect for Leah and Nickolas’s ceremony. The couple have a greek heritage and their ceremony included the greek tradition of Stephana in which crowns are used by the minister and the Koumbari, Leah’s brother, to bless the Bride and Groom during the ceremony. It was a beautiful faith based ceremony.
The reception was in the Reception Hall at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Tarpon Springs. Before we left the chapel Leah+Nicholas had butterflies that Nick’s aunt had raised that they wanted to release. It had been windy all day so I wasn’t too sure how the release was going to work out. I was afraid that as soon as they opened the box these poor little butterflies were going to be blown down the street before I could get a photo of them! As it turns out, butterflies are pretty strong flyers and even stronger at holding onto things. When the box was opened they immediately flew/blew out and grabbed a hold of both Leah and Nicholas. Leah had them all over and in her dress and much to Nicholas’s surprise he had a particularly friendly one that attach itself to his nose and wouldn’t let go. Be sure to see their release in the photos below.
Their reception was a lot of fun with touching toasts, good food, and dancing. Wade from Grant Hemond and Assoc. was the DJ for the evening and as usual, he did a great job of getting and keeping the party going.
Here are some of my favs from their day. I especially like the photo of dad seeing his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time. Wedding photography is all about the emotion. Congratulations Leah+Nicholas. -Jeff
